Lets talk about where to get your groceries and goods
The information we provide are our experiences. Some things change so be prepared for slightly different experiences and do your own research especially on prices!
STORES
There are several grocery stores on the island. I will explain the common ones we use.
All the stores accept credit cards, US Dollars, and Pesos. Some stores may not have enough US Dollars to make change so if you pay in Dollars, it is common to receive your change in pesos.
OXXO
The Oxxo is a convenient store on the same property and is only a few feet from our Villa. They have some of your basic needs such as drinks, basic house/toiletry needs, snacks, and 5 gal jugs of water for the dispenser.
They do not sell beer and alcohol.

CHEDRAUI
The first grocery store I will explain is Chedraui, the closet grocery store to our Villa. It is a large store that should have everything your looking for. Including food, drinks, alcohol, toiletry items, house items and swim wear. This store is very local and most employees here will only speak Spanish. Have your translator ready if you want to ask where something is at.

SORIANA (FORMER MEGA)
Our favorite grocery store is Soriana, the second closet grocery store to our Villa. It is also a large store that should have everything your looking for. Including food, drinks, alcohol, toiletry items, house items and swim wear. This store is used more by tourist and more of their employees here will speak English.

SAMS CLUB
The Island has a Sams Club a little over 2 miles away. Your Sam's membership from the US will be honored in Mexico.

BODEGA (WALMART)
The Island has a store called Bodega which is the Walmart of Mexico. It is on the same property of Sam's Club.
It is very similar to the small town Walmart we have in the US.
